Animals also have feelings and mind to think

Birdfoot's Grandpa

The old man

must have stopped our car
two dozen times to climb out
and gather into his hands

the small toads blinded

by our lights and leaping,
live drops of rain.

The rain was falling,
a mist about his white hair
and i kept saying
you can't save them all,
accept it,
get back in
we've got places to go.

But, leathery hands full
of wet brown life,
knee deep in the summer

roadside grass,
he just smiled and said
they have places to go, too.

This poem is not my creation but other people but I post it because it affected me a lot and it makes me think that not only people but animal too have feelings. They also have purpose in their life and things to do. They are also alive and needs to be saved by us and we have to save every one of them because if you could imagine yourself as being born as an animal, you will also think that your life is important as well as other animals, but since we are human beings, we are blinded by the perception that the most important living things are human because we are the most intelligent being in our planet and the others are useless or existed so we can use it. But, we are born with emotion, feelings, and empathy, so we should be compassionate and think that animals have the same right as us to live peacefully, to be loved, and to have prosperous lives. Lets save animals and not for the sake of us only but for the sake of them because they also have the right to live.
